Spoiler for Hiden:
These people are landing with their ship in coupled mode. Where the ship will automatically accelerate to where the throttle is set, and counter rotate to a stop if no rotational input is sensed.
So by tapping their strafe keys (or sticks) the ship jerks down, and since the maneuvering thrusters were a toggle switch, instead of a throttle for a long time, it was 100% thrust or 0.
If you/they were to be in decoupled mode, a slight tap in any direction and your ship will drift until you fire thrusters to stop it. In decoupled, the rotational assists stay active, so you don't have to counter pitch or roll, the ifcs does it for you, but direction inertia is not automatically corrected. By which you could get a fairly smooth landing.
